Privacy Policy

This page states the Privacy Policy under which you, the Website visitor (“You” or “Your” or “Yourself”) may use or correspond with this Website (“Our Site and Services”), which is owned by Green Building Alliance (GBA) (“We” or “Us” or “Our”).

We respect Your privacy interests and operate this site by these principles. We have taken reasonable steps to protect the integrity and confidentiality of personally identifiable information that You may provide.

Voluntary Submission of Information

You may use GBA’s DASH Site and Services without disclosing personally identifiable information, and We will not obtain such information about You unless You choose to submit it to us. Any information You submit will be used internally or anonymously only; however, submission of information authorizes such internal and anonymous use by Us, Our employees, and other DASH Users. In particular, please note that submission of an email authorizes Us to contact You via email.

We collect the e-mail addresses of those who communicate with us via e-mail, aggregate information on what pages consumers access or visit, and information volunteered by the consumer (such as survey information and/or site registrations). The information we collect is used to improve the content of our Web pages and the quality of our services, and is not shared with or sold to other organizations for commercial purposes, except to provide products or services you've requested, when we have your permission, or under the following circumstances:

  1. It is necessary to share information in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of Terms of Service, or as otherwise required by law.

  2. We transfer information about you if GBA or DASH is acquired by or merged with another company. In this event, GBA will notify you before information about you is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
Information Gathering and Usage

When you register for DASH, we ask for information such as your name, company name, email address, billing address, and credit card information. GBA uses collected information for the following general purposes: products and services provision, billing, identification and authentication, services improvement, contact, advertising, and research.

Cookies

Please note that We use “cookies,” which are small files stored on Your computer's hard drive that are used to track certain information and often include an anonymous unique identifier. These cookies enable Us to track and target the interests of Our users to enhance their experience on Our Site and Services. For example, cookies usually allow Your browser to remember which pages You have visited and help Us to know how much traffic Our pages receive. Cookies are required to use GBA’s DASH service. We use cookies to record current session information, but do not use permanent cookies. You are required to login to DASH after a certain period of time has elapsed to protect you against others accidentally accessing your account contents.

Log Files

In addition, Our Web server collects and saves the default information customarily logged by World Wide Web server software. Our logs contain the following information for each request: date, time, originating IP address and domain name, object requested, and completion status of the request. We use these logs to help improve Our Services by evaluating the level of demand for Our Site and Services and detecting any errors on Our Site or Services that might occur. These logs may be kept for an indefinite length of time and used at any time and in any way necessary to prevent security breaches and protect the integrity of the data on Our servers.

Data Storage

GBA uses third-party vendors and hosting partners to provide the necessary hardware, software, networking, storage, and related technology required to run DASH. Although GBA owns the code, databases, and all rights to the DASH application, you retain all rights to your data.
